ESSAY RULES: CONTEST DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED! New deadline is July 14, 2008. Winner to be notified on July 21, 2008. There will be no further deadline extensions. There is no "topic" required of submitted essays. The content is left open to individual creativity and skill. Essays should read in 500 words or less. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Current homeowners' family members and friends are not eligible to enter. Judges and judges' family members are not eligible to enter. A panel of five (unrelated to owners) will read & judge essay entries. Depending upon contest response, an additional four members (unrelated to owners ) will be added to panel to assist in reading & judging essay entries. IF CONTEST doesn't generate 2000 entries by the deadline, all entry fees will be returned in self addressed stamped envelopes. All entry fees will be held in a special account at First National Bank of Fort Collins, Colorado for the duration of the contest. Current homeowner's will pay for a home inspection, ALL closing costs which include the pro-rated property taxes from January 01, 2008 to the date of closing. All contest winners are subject to paying taxes on their winnings. Therefore, the winner of this contest will be obligated to pay taxes on this property. However, with a debt-free warranty deed providing the winner with nearly $200,000 of built-in equity, this should not be a financial burden to the winner. Release agreement: All essays must be the author's original work. All essay entries become the property of Wes Ludlow and J.J. Rodgers and will not be returned to the entrants/author. Wes Ludlow and J.J. Rodgers claim any & all rights to the submitted material without consideration or royalties. By submitting an essay, all participants agree to have all or any portion of their essay released for possible publication. The winner of the essay contest agrees to a release of all or any portion of their essay and name for possible publication.
